Kudos to Jon Stewart and the staff of the Daily Show, for exposing the blatant lies and hypocrisy of McCain's campaign and media surrogates. Why real news shows (with the exception of Keith Olbermann, I guess) don't do this is beyond me.

It's a bit nerdy, I know, but I got bored.

Subject: Lovely message
From: *****

Gosh Ryland, thanks for such a beautifully tender and Christian message. Imagine my delight when I discovered it; a perfect example of the blatant hypocrisy of the Catholic Church, specifically, and Christianity in general.

Keep it up; it really encourages would be Christy-ians to become Atheists.

GREAT WORK! Keep it up; I really look forward to your next 'creation.'

Thank you!!

PS I am delighted to make sure that this wonderfully Christian message gets distributed far and wide.

Oh, you can thank Fark.com for showing it in the first place

What did I do now? Sigh.

I'm leaning towards voting for the presidential candidate not endorsed by the worst president in American history.

Just a rule of thumb. Common sense, really.

Categories: Bush (Dubya), environment, WTF

Fresh on the heels of the DHS making the decision to move the Plum Island biohazard facility from an isolated location on an island, to Mississippi, comes the news that the Bush administration has decided to reduce the reach of the Endangered Species Act.

In 2005, the House passed a bill that would have made similar changes to the Endangered Species Act, but the bill died in the Senate.

The sponsor of that bill, then-House Resources chairman Richard Pombo, R-Calif., told the AP Monday that allowing agencies to judge for themselves the effects of a project will not harm species or habitat.

"There is no way they can rubber stamp everything because they will end up in court for every decision," he said.

But internal reviews by the National Marine Fisheries Service and Fish and Wildlife Service concluded that about half the unilateral evaluations by the Forest Service and Bureau of Land Management that determined wildfire prevention projects were unlikely to harm protected species were not legally or scientifically valid.

Suuuuurrrrreeeee, these agencies are going to make sound decisions - just look at what they've done in the past! Heaven forbid that contractors have to wait, tapping their little toes, while a determination is made as to whether their latest strip mining project is going to impact the ecology of the area or not.

The Bush administration shows us once again what god they worship...let the rape of our earth begin - there's money to be made!
