fonts

These are fonts I've created. More fonts are under development, so check back once in a while.

Cell 63 title

Cell 63 :: Download :: View Sample

Cell 63 is my first font. It's based on the hand-lettered credit and title cards in the movie Forbidden Zone (1980). The lettering was done by animator John Muto. In creating this font, I tried to make a clean and readable typeface, but still retain the quirkiness and charm of Muto's hand lettering.

Signage title

Signage Standard Chiseled :: Download :: View Sample

Signage Modern :: Download :: View Sample

Signage Standard, Chiseled, and Modern are based on the popular styles of changeable lettering for roadside signage. I developed them mainly for use in the Church Sign Generator, but I hope they'll have other uses.

Country Club Souvenir title

Country Club Souvenir :: Download :: View Sample

Country Club Souvenir is based on a hand-lettered souvenir program I found on the web, from a 1929 country club golf tournament. The lettering was clean and elegant, while maintaining a sense of fun. I hope I managed to capture that quality in this font.

"In a country with no tradition of private philanthropy or community activism, the Sichuan earthquake has given birth to a remarkable development: a grassroots volunteer movement on a massive scale. Scientists shocked to find their names on cliimate-change deniers list
"Dozens of scientists are demanding that their names be removed from a widely distributed Heartland Institute article entitled '500 Scientists with Documented Doubts of Man-Made Global Warming Scares.' ... DeSmogBlog manager Kevin Grandia emailed 122 of the scientists yesterday afternoon, calling their attention to the list. So far - in less than 24 hours - three dozen of those scientists had responded in outrage, denying that their research supports Avery's conclusions and demanding that their names be removed."

Gin, Television, and Social Surplus
"She heard this story and she shook her head and said, 'Where do people find the time?' That was her question. And I just kind of snapped. And I said, 'No one who works in TV gets to ask that question. You know where the time comes from. It comes from the cognitive surplus you've been masking for 50 years.'"
